Refinished and Gilded Chair using Annie Sloan Graphite Paint

I have always wanted to try the ever famous Annie Sloan chalk paint because it's very ideal for a novice like me. No prep and sanding seemed too good to be true. Finally, I got the chance to get it from the stockist and I'm very happy with the result of my first project.

I have a chair with a very pale finish and has leopard prints in it. I figured that it might look nicer if I darken it and put some gilding on it. This chair will be paired to a console table which is my next project.

I'm very excited to move on with the next project! Until next time!

Mod Podge Tutorial (Old Wooden Container)

I have an old rectangular wooden container that was covered with animal print which I am not a fan of.  To make it to my liking, I bought a nicely printed scrapbook paper and changed the whole thing by using Mod Podge.

New Upholstery for Old Piano Clawfeet Stool

I found an an antique piano clawfeet stool in one of my favorite consignment stores. It got my attention because it was small and sturdy plus the glassballs are in very good condition.  It didn't have the swivel part anymore and it fitted my secretary perfectly. It just needed to be a little bit more comfortable so I decided to upholster it.

Before upholstery, I gave the chair some TLC by polishing it with a natural wood recipe using olive oil and vinegar.

Recipe:

1 cup olive oil
1/4 cup white vinegar

Since the wood used is very old, I didn't want to beat it up with the staple gun. Instead, I used a hard cardboard for my upholstery project.

A Touch of Gray and Red Guest Room

A little more than a month ago, we planned to finally design our guest room. We wanted it to not only become a nice looking room but a cozy and a comfortable one too.

So we gathered our energy and resources to start with it.  As you can remember, I have been doing small projects to fit in this room.  Finally, it all came together.

A Set of OLd Hotel Table and Chairs Refinished

I am still working on my guest room project and I have found another set of table and chairs from my favorite hotel liquidator that needed to be changed to fit the room.

The set used to look like this.

The colors were way off for my project so I decided to paint it like my side table and the headboard. Since the seat upholstery are still good, customized washable slip-on covers are the way to go.

Headboard Makeover

This is a purchase from my favorite hotel liquidator store for $25 and is intended for our guest room that is now on progress.  Since the guest room has a white and red feel to it, I decided to make it white instead of keeping it in this finish.

Thrift Store Find: Side Table with Glass Top Rescue

I found this beautiful glass top table all beaten up in one corner of my local Goodwill.  I got it for just $12.00 and planned to turn this darling to a side table for our new guest room.

The guest room has a red and white color scheme so I decided to paint it with glossy white and glossy red.

The four legs are made of wood and can be dismantled and the ones that are holding it are made of aluminum which are all rusty underneath it's pale yellow paint.
